Four more US choppers arrive in Pak for flood relief operations

Islamabad, Aug.17 (ANI): The United States has sent four more CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters to assist in the ongoing relief and rescue operations in flood hit areas of Pakistan.
Currently there are 18 US military and civilian aircraft in Pakistan assisting in flood relief operations.
According to a press statement issued by the US embassy here, eight more choppers would arrive in Pakistan in the next few days. The US Air Force is also providing help through C-130 aircraft based in Afghanistan.
Two C-130s transported an estimated 52,000 pounds of relief supplies on Monday, The Daily Times reports.
The US has supplied a month’s emergency food rations to more than 307,000 people through partnership with the World Food Programme
It has also provided over 11.25 million dollars for flood relief operations through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). (ANI)
