However, Eden Aberjil said that she did nothing wrong in uploading the pictures on her homepage.

Eden Aberjil said that she was surprised to see the negative reactions and death threats after the pictures were made public. According to her the pictures were taken to remember her days and experience in the army. In one of her radio interviews she said that the she did not intend to make a political statement through the pictures. The former soldier said that there is no violence or “intention” to humiliate anyone in the pictures. However, Jawad Amawi, the director of legal affairs for Palestinian Authority’s prisoners ministry said that he would take legal actions as he feels that this is a breach of international law and human rights.

Eden Aberjil also added that she finds it “astounding” there are so many people who want peace are blaming her for ruining it. Israeli army called the pictures “shameful, base and rude” and asked for investigation. Even the Palestinian group said that the photos are humiliating and it revealed Eden Aberjil’s mentality. The media reports that it is still unclear if she would face any disciplinary action for her behavior. However, Eden Aberjil feels that the matter is blown out of proportion and said that the army is “ungrateful” as she risked her life for the army and now she has become a victim.
