Colourful flowers lure visitors to Bangalore flower show

BANGALORE - People thronged the annual flower show organized by the Department of Horticulture in Karnataka at the Lal Bagh Gardens here.

‘Floral Fest’ is the theme for the Flower Show and the aim is to bring people together to enjoy nature and know more about flowers and plants grown in and around the city.

Rajat, a visitor said over 250000 roses and assorted flowers were display, including a huge replica of India Gate which is located in New Delhi.

“It is really beautiful and magnificent, my wife is loving it and varieties of rose flowers they have used is (are) really unique. I can see different kinds of flowers which I cannot name them,” said Rajat.

Gelly, a foreign tourist, said that he was amazed to see a monument replicated with flowers.

“It is (for) first time I have seen a building (monument) like that which is a famous building of India showing symbol of Independence and we don’t see that very often in Europe,” said Gelly.

The event commenced on Friday and will be open to public till India’s Independence Day on August 15. By Jaipal Sharma (ANI)
