Hyundai says US July sales rise 19 percent
NEW YORK — Hyundai Motor America said Tuesday falling consumer confidence didn’t hurt its U.S. sales in July, which were up 19 percent from the year before.
BY THE NUMBERS: Hyundai sold 54,106 cars in the U.S. in July, up from 45,553 in July of 2009.
TOP SELLERS: The carmaker sold 18,215 Elantras in July, a 34-percent increase. The Sonata also continued its record sales pace, growing by 33 percent to 17,836.
HOT MODELS: Sales of the Hyundai Tucson more than tripled for the fourth straight month to 3,698.
