Search warrants served in Missouri in NM slayings
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A police spokeswoman says authorities are serving several search warrants in the Missouri city of Joplin in connection with the 2009 discovery of the bodies of 11 women buried in the desert.
Albuquerque police spokeswoman Nadine Hamby would not discuss the warrants because they are sealed, as were about a half dozen others served in various locations previously.
Hamby estimates it could take a couple of days to execute the warrants.
She would not say whether they involve businesses or homes. But she stresses they are search warrants, not arrest warrants.
The remains of the women and a fetus were discovered in February 2009, and had been buried between 2003 and 2005.
