LAHORE - Dodging a question on the PPP Government’s decision to extend the tenure of Army Chief Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif said aur bhi gham hein zamanay mein mohabbat kay siwa (there are worries in life other than love).
Talking to media men at General Hospital Lahore, he said budget of all the state institutions including the Army should be tabled in the Parliament.
“We want strong democratic institutions through implementation of the Charter of Democracy (CoD),” The News quoted Sharif, as saying.
He said no compromise will be made on the issue of fake degrees and that PML-N’s stance on the issue has been unambiguous and clear.
“Rotten eggs must be thrown out of the country’s politics,” Nawaz Sharif said.
PML-N spokesman Ahsan Iqbal complained that his party had not been consulted before the decision was taken.
Asked if he felt alienated after other players in the power game had secured their positions till 2013 as stated by the Prime Minister recently, Sharif said only time would tell who had been left alone. (ANI)
