CHANDLER (GaeaTimes.com)- Twelve employees of the Pei Wei restaurant chain located in the city of Chandler have been fired from their positions in the restaurant with the restaurant authorities claiming that they put up an irresponsible behavior by not coming to work on time. This claim has however been refuted by the employees who have lost their jobs. All twelve employees are of the opinion that they are victims of a controversial immigration law.

The twelve Pei Wei employees who were shown the door could not come to work in their scheduled shifts because they were attending an anti-SB 1070 protest rally during their work hours. One among them was of the opinion that their employers would provide support to their cause but they have been highly disappointed over the fact that they were not only not given support but were also sacked from work. This decision on the part of the Pei Wei restaurant authorities have left the employees highly disappointed. Speaking to the media, they said that not only do they demand their positions in the restaurant back but also want an apology from the Chandler Pei Wei employers.

It has also been alleged by the sacked Pei Wei employees that any worker who failed to attend work in the past was penalized but never fired from their job with the restaurant. This is first such instance and therefore it has led them to think that they are being politically victimized. The reactions of the restaurant authorities have not been recorded as of yet. It has been reported that a Chandler based union group is helping the sacked Pei Wei employees to get justice in the case.
