8 on small plane safe after belly landing in Mass.
BARNSTABLE, Mass. — Authorities say eight people escaped injury when their small plane made a belly landing at a Cape Cod airport.
Seven passengers and the pilot were aboard the Nantucket Shuttle Airlines flight when it experienced a landing gear problem while trying to land at Barnstable Municipal Airport.
Hyannis Fire Lt. Tom Kenney says everyone was able to get off the plane safely.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission are investigating.
