Allegiant flight makes emergency landing in Ariz.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Federal aviation officials say a Phoenix-bound Allegiant Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Flagstaff after an indicator light showed a possible fire in one of its two engines.

The flight was flying from Billings, Mont., on Sunday morning when the indicator light showed a possible fire in the plane’s No. 2 engine.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says it’s not clear whether there was an actual fire.

The plane was diverted to Flagstaff and landed safely at about 10:30 a.m. Passengers exited the aircraft using emergency slides.

Flagstaff police say three people suffered minor injuries while exiting the plane and were transported to a local hospital.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
