Explosive found in portable toilet in Wash. state
LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Police say about 50 people were evacuated from homes and businesses near a portable toilet where a sanitation worker found an explosive in Washington state.
Lakewood Assistant Chief Mike Zaro says the evacuations Friday morning were a precaution while a bomb squad safely destroyed what looked like a pipe bomb.
The fuse apparently went out and it did not detonate.
