Global ad spending 2010 forecast at a glance
Zenith Optimedia is forecasting a 3.5 percent increase in global advertising spending for 2010. That’s up from its prior outlook of 2.2 percent, because of stronger-than-expected showing for the first half of the year, especially in North America and Western Europe.
Here’s a look at Zenith’s forecast by region:
North America: a gain of 1.3 percent to $158.6 billion, with 1.1 percent for the U.S. and 5.4 percent for Canada.
Western Europe: rising by 2.2 percent to $102.1 billion.
Asia-Pacific: an increase of 5.8 percent to $106.2 billion, but Japan remains a drag.
Latin America: rising by 7 percent to $31 billion.
Central and Eastern Europe: an increase of 7 percent to $27.1 billion.
Africa, Middle East and other nations: rising by 6.9 percent to $22.7 billion.
