NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The newly Union Cabinet accredited Rupee symbol that is a mixture of Devanagari “Ra” and Roman “R” has no doubt scripted a news history for the Indian currency and economy and now it is only few clicks away from use. The Government although said that the rupee symbol would take some time to be made available in print and web media, a Mangalore based internet engineering company has made it possible within a week’s time.

Foradian Technologies, a Mangalore based internet engineering company has been able to create the rupee symbol font called Rupee Foradian which can be downloaded from the website and used. The company had put to use a key that in general is not used by most users and programmers. The software that can be downloaded from the website of Foradian Technologies can read the code of the Rupee font. One only needs to press the button above the “Tab” key on the Keyboard to get the image of the Rupee font.

However, the problem with the present Foradian version of the Rupee symbol font is that a computer system without the software will not be able to read the rupee symbol. The Foradian Technologies in a statement said that creation of the rupee font “is not a rocket science” adding that any person with a good knowledge of computers can do it. The statement also mentioned humbly that if a small company like Foradian can create the symbol, then it would take hardly any time for the rupee font to enter into all PCs and Keyboards if Indian Government and Media works together.
