China’s sexiest tramp’s life set for reel makeover

LONDON - A movie is being made on a Chinese tramp who shot to fame as a sex symbol after his photograph was posted on the internet.
In 2009, 34-year-old Cheng Guorong wandered through the streets of the Ningbo in East China for food and searched through rubbish for discarded plastic bottles and cigarette butts.
Cheng’s life changed dramatically after an amateur photographer posted pictures of him on the Internet walking on the streets.
Fans soon started calling him ‘China’s Sexiest Tramp or ‘Brother Sharp’ due to his prominent cheekbones and bohemian clothes.
A Chinese film producer, Deng Jianguo, has said that he wants to make a movie on Cheng’s life and the shooting is scheduled to begin in September.
“Deng Jianguo called and at first we told him we had no intention of making a movie. Brother Sharp then travelled to Beijing to do a job for a company and Deng followed him up there to ask again. Finally we went to Shanghai to do an interview for Shanghai television and Deng came there too,” the Telegraph quoted a relative as saying.
“It will be a sad story, but at the end there will be the happiness of a family reunion,” added the relative.
Carl Ng, a Hong Kong-based actor, will play Cheng’s role. (ANI)
