TIRANA, Albania — Albanian authorities say 12 persons have died and 16 others have been injured, many of them seriously, when a bus fell off a cliff 140 kilometers (87 miles) north of the capital, Tirana.

A police spokesman said Saturday that the bus was traveling in “rough weather conditions” but he did not give further details.
