Center tells Punjab, Haryana to utilize Rs. 3467 crores for flood relief

CHANDIGARH - The Central government has advised Punjab and Haryana governments to utilize the Rs. 3467 crores available in their Calamity Relief Funds for restoration or repair works and to provide immediate relief to people affected by floods in the both States.

The Haryana Government has Rs. 1151.45 crores, while the Punjab Government has 2316.46 crores at their disposal.

Both governments have also been informed that in case of additional Central assistance, a memorandum indicating the total assessed damage may be sent to Delhi urgently so that a Central Team can be dispatched to make an assessment. (ANI)
