GFI Group names new head of commodities, energy
NEW YORK — GFI Group Inc., an inter-dealer broker that specializes in derivatives, said Monday it appointed Richard Giles as managing director and head of commodities and energy brokerage for North America.
Giles replaces Michael Cosgrove. Cosgrove remains a managing director at the group, and will be responsible for directing strategic initiatives in North American commodities and energy sectors.
Giles was previously head of credit for GFI group in the U.K. He joined the company in 1993.
Shares of GFI Group sank 24 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $5.96 in afternoon trading Monday.
