LONDON - In a bizarre incident, a Brit man armed with a gun allegedly held his mother hostage for failing to iron his clothes.
And thus, Robert Tyrrell Jr, 29, has been charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
Police allege that Tyrrell, who lives with his parents, wanted his mother to do some ironing because it was “woman’s work”.
And when she refused, he allegedly pulled out a gun, and took his 51-year-old mother’s keys and cellphones and refused to let her leave for at least six hours, revealed authorities.
However, she eventually escaped unharmed and went to a police station, reports the Telegraph.
Authorities arrested Tyrrell on June 30 out without incident.
Sgt Marc Griffith, of Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said Tyrell was being remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear in court later this month. (ANI)
