ISLAMABAD - The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has objected to the military operation against the Taliban in North Waziristan.

According to sources, JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman, during the just concluded two-day two-day meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) cited his opposition over a proposed military operation against the Taliban and other extremist organisation in the restive North Waziristan.

Sources privy to the meeting said Rehman stressed on sorting out the North Waziristan crisis through dialogue instead of military action.

During the meeting, the JUI-F chief also criticised the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led coalition government for launching military offensive in country’s tribal region under US pressure.

The deteriorating law and order condition in Karachi was also discussed during the meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Haider Abbas Rizvi demanding strict action against the culprits of continuous target killing in the city. (ANI)
