Police arrest Maoist arms suppliers in Jharkhand

JAMSHEDPUR - Jharkhand police has busted an arms supply racket with the arrest of nine persons from Jamshedpur.

“Police also seized 13 pistols (7.65mm), a 9mm revolver, 443 cartridges, Indian Small Arms System (INSAS) .315, about 200,000 rupees and nine mobile phones,” said Senior Superintendent of Police, Navin Kumar Singh.

The arrested persons have been identified as Pradeep Kumar Pandey, Baidnatha Mardi, Rohit Karmarkar, Kunal Rajak, Prem Lal, Gangadhar Ojha, Lal Babu, Maneek Chand, Sidhu Mahto.

According to sources, the Maoists used to collect the arms on national highways and used the motor cycles for carrying them. (ANI)
