Israel: Hezbollah storing weapons inside villages

JERUSALEM — Israel’s military has released maps and aerial photographs showing what it describes as a network of Hezbollah weapons depots and command centers inside villages of south Lebanon, near the Iseraeli border.

Israeli media showed detailed maps and 3-D simulations showing what the military says are rocket storerooms close to schools and hospitals.

The exceptional publication of detailed intelligence material Wednesday appeared aimed at preparing public opinion for possible strikes inside villages and civilian casualties in a future round of fighting.

In Beirut, a Hezbollah official said he would not comment before seeing the information.

Hezbollah attacked an Israeli border patrol in 2006, sparking a war that killed around 1,200 people in Lebanon and 160 in Israel.
