AMBALA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Suman Sharma, the widow of Rakesh Sharma or Bobby, the alias under which the man worked, has moved the High Courts of Punjab and Haryana, and has asked for a compensation after the sudden death of her husband who was murdered in the month of March this year. Rakesh Sharma was murdered by three men inside the premises of the District Court of Ambala.

According to reports from the High Courts in both states, Suman Sharma has asked for a compensation amounting to Rs. 2 crore. The widow from Ambala put forward the argument that since her husband was still under the protection of the police at the time of the murder, it was the duty of the law to provide her with the stated compensation. Ranjan Lakhanpal is the Advocate who is pleading for Suman Sharma in the case. He has issued a notice to the High Court of Punjab and Haryana stating that it was the duty of the law to protect Rakesh Sharma when he was still in the custody of the police. Since they failed to do so, it is now their duty to protect the interests of the dead’s family and thus fulfil the demands of Suman Sharma.

The case is still under jurisdiction and it has been reported that the High Court of Haryana has submitted its report to the state government, making the same aware of the situation in the case. The shoot-out which claimed the life of Rakesh Sharma within the walls of the District Court of Ambala took place on the 3rd of March this year. The police officers who should otherwise have saved him, supposedly ran away to protect their own lives.
