Abercrombie store with bugs could reopen Thursday

NEW YORK — An Abercrombie & Fitch store that was closed Friday because of bedbugs won’t reopen until at least Thursday.

A spokesman for the preppy teen retailer says the store is being rid of the insects and the company hopes to open it by Thursday.

Abercrombie’s surf-themed Hollister store in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, which closed last Thursday due to the pesky critters, reopened Saturday.

The New Albany, Ohio-based chain has requested guidance from city authorities on how to get rid of the pests.

It has said its flagship Abercrombie store on Fifth Avenue is bedbug-free.

The company said last week it was still investigating the issue. Cerny says there is no update on that process on Tuesday.
