Srinagar July 5: (ANI) Curfew was imposed in Ananatnag town of Jammu and Kashmir, following the announcement of a protest march by the separatist group, Hurriyat Conference (Geelani).

People of the town have been facing many problems following the imposing of curfew.

“The Hurriyat Conference gave a call for going to Islamabad (Anantnag), ‘Islamabad chalo!’ Due to this, the government has imposed a curfew, and, they are not allowing us to come out of our houses,” said Farooq Ahmed, a local from Anantnag.

The situation in the valley has been tense over the past few weeks due to repeated clashes between the protestors and the security forces. (ANI)
