Nissan’s North America June sales rise nearly 11 percent year-over-year, Altima is top seller

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Nissan North America’s June sales rose 10.8 percent on stronger results from its truck divison and better sales of some of its cars.
Sales of Nissan trucks and SUVs rose 20 percent, outpacing the more modest 2.7 percent growth in car sales. Nissan saw sales slip for some of its better selling models, like the Altima sedan, but posted growth from its Versa compact.
BY THE NUMBERS: Nissan sold 64,570 vehicles in June 2010.
TOP SELLER: The Altima. Despite a 2.6 percent decline in sales, Nissan still sold 15,920 Altimas.
HOT MODEL: Sales of the Armada SUV rose 116 percent, with 1,350 sold.
