Dieting British Lord Mayor’s pants fall down in public

LONDON - A British Lord Mayor, who is on a strict diet, was left red-faced after his trousers fell down while he was speaking to a crowd full of youngsters.
Councillor Colin Hall, 46, of Leicester, who later admitted he’d forgotten to put on his belt, apologised for the incident, which had taken place while he was offering a vote of thanks at an education event in a city library.
“I had chosen not to wear a belt and the trousers came loose and fell,” the Sun quoted him as saying.
“I would like to offer my deepest apologies to anyone who was offended by the accident,” he stated.
The chubby mayor, who caused an outcry last week by ending the tradition of prayers before council meetings, appeared to blame the incident on his diet.
“I was wondering how to publicise the progress of my diet. I hear, though, this issue may be resolved very soon,” he wrote on his Twitter site.
One onlooker said: “It was like something from Benny Hill. No one knew where to look.
“He looked embarrassed and quickly pulled his trousers up, but by then it was too late,” the onlooker added. (ANI)
