JALALABAD - Six Taliban suicide bombers on Wednesday launched a brazen daylight attack on one of the biggest NATO bases in Afghanistan.

According to reports, several attackers were killed and two service personnel were injured when the suicide bombers set off a car bomb and fired rocket propelled grenades at the Jalalabad Air Base.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force said that the attack began at 7.30 am.

Meanwhile, a NATO spokesman said the perimeter of the base had not been breached, The Telegraph reports.

The attack comes days before General David Petraeus takes up his post as US commander in-charge of NATO operations in Afghanistan. (ANI)
