RAIPUR - Security forces suspect that at least 15 Maoists might have been killed during Tuesday’s Narayanpur ambush in Chhattisgarh.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost 24 personnel in a Maoist ambush in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur District on Tuesday.

The dead included a CRPF Assistant Commandant Jatin Gulati.

This was the third ambush hatched against CRPF personnel in last three months by the Maoists.

Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Viswa Ranjan has said that at least 15 Maoists were suspected to be killed in a retaliatory firing by CRPF personnel.

However, security forces could not find even a single body, as Maoists are known to take away the bodies of their cadres killed in encounters with security forces.

Combing operations have been launched in the district since Wednesday morning.

The bodies of the victims were brought to Raipur for post-mortem.

The state Health Department has formed six teams of doctors to conduct the post-mortem.(ANI)
