SYDNEY - With more and more people opting for Internet dating, a list has been formed for those who are just starting a relationship online.

The list was part of a Sydney Morning Herald report based on a survey on the online dating practices of Australians.

According to it, the don’ts are as follows:

1. Don’t use an old photo, you’ll only get caught out.

2. Don’t lie about yourself but at the same time make sure your profile isn’t dull - make yourself stand out.

3. Don’t give out personal details like address and phone number until you’ve met in real life and you’re sure about who they are.

4. Don’t jump into things - take your time.

5. Don’t make any financial commitments, for example don’t send money for airfares.

6. Be aware that people can be less than honest about themselves online.

7. You may find yourself overwhelmed by choices, going from not dating anyone to juggling six dates in a week.

8. Just as you may have a large number of dates, you may also have to face a large number of knock-backs. (ANI)
