LONDON - British Prime Minister David Cameron wants the Army to be moved out of Afghanistan before the next general election in 2015.

“We can’t be there for another five years, having been there for nine years already,” The Independent quoted Cameron, as saying.

US President Barack Obama set out a timetable under which American troops would be withdrawn from Afghanistan by the middle of 2011.

Cameron has agreed to with what he called “the Obama plan”, but refused to commit himself to any deadline for British troops to come home, saying only that he prefers “not to deal in too strict timetables”.

Four British soldiers died in a road crash in Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Cameron described it as a “completely tragic case,” and warned of a tough period ahead for troops battling Taliban militants. (ANI)
