SHILLONG - On the occasion of the World Music Day, a music concert was organized here on Tuesday.

The music bands performed on various genres of music like punk, jazz, blues, and Rock and Roll.

The brain behind the show was a celebrated artiste, Lou Majaw.

“We need to celebrate music, a sort of energy in life. So even in a little town like Shillong, we are making a contribution to the feel of music,” said Lou Majaw.

A large number of like-minded music lovers participated in the concert.

One of the participants said that the concert was like a religious event for all the music lovers.

“To me personally, this gathering is like a religion kind of stuff. As Christians, we have Christmas, Diwali is for the Hindus, So being a musician where we earn our bread, today its something I feel is very special,” said Rangdap Cooper Kharshiing, band guitarist.

Shillong is known as the ‘Rock capital of the northeast’. (ANI)
