Top LeT commander killed in Kashmir encounter

SAPORE - A top Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) commander and a policeman were killed and four others injured in an overnight gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore town.

According to sources, the gun battle commenced at Bhagat Mohalla, 55 kms from Sopore, when militants opened fire on Special Operations Group (SOG) of local police on Monday.

The slain militant was identified as Zubair. He was involved in several killings, including the gunning down of four CRPF personnel earlier this year.

The search operations are continuing. (ANI)
