Associated Press says CNN ending use of AP content

NEW YORK — The Associated Press says CNN will end the use of stories, photos, video and other material from the news cooperative.

The AP says the two news organizations have not been able to agree to terms to license AP content to the cable news network and its websites beyond the June 30 expiration of the current contract.

It was not immediately clear why the talks broke down. CNN, which is owned by Time Warner Inc., did not immediately return calls seeking comment. AP spokesman Paul Colford declined comment on the specifics of the negotiations.
