PATNA - Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has accused his political opponent Lalu Prasad for encouraging cross voting in elections to the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of Parliament.

“Lalu Prasad Yadav started this process of cross voting. He always uses these kinds of tactics so it came back on him this time,” said Nitish Kumar.

BJP legislator Banwari Ram and three BSP legislators admitted to having cross voted in favour of RJD’s Ram Kirpal Yadav.

Commneting on the independent candidate, BG Uday from Karnataka, Nitish said that he was sure that the party nominees would win.

“Party nominees will win; this was fixed from the first day. Anybody from outside Bihar state cannot win election here without doing any work for the people of the state,” added Nitish.

Polling for the five vacant seats from Rajya Sabha was held on June 17.

Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy and RJD’s Ram Kripal Yadav have won Rajya Sabha seats. (ANI)
