Mediacom gets advisers for going-private proposal
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Mediacom Communications Corp. said Thursday that a committee of its board chose Barclays Capital Inc. to serve as its financial adviser during the review of a proposal from Mediacom’s founder and CEO to take the company private.
Mediacom Chairman and CEO Rocco B. Commisso presented the proposal to the company’s board on May 31, Mediacom said.
The cable-television provider has also asked Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP to give legal advice.
Commisso has chosen JPMorgan Securities Inc. and BofA Merrill Lynch to advise him financially. Baker Botts LLP is working as his legal adviser.
Shares of Mediacom rose 3 cents to close at $6.99.
