NJ state trooper found dead; no suspects sought

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — New Jersey State Police have identified the trooper found dead in his car on a highway exit ramp.

Trooper Scott Graham was found by another law enforcement officer who was passing by shortly after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Graham was in a marked patrol car.

Police say he had a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says the circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation, but Jones says officers are not searching for any vehicles or suspects.

The 35-year-old Graham graduated from the state police academy in 2001 and had been a trooper for 10 years.

Police say he is survived by a wife and three young children.
