ISLAMABAD - The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) destroyed yet another girls’ school in Mohmand Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on Monday taking the total number of schools blown up by extremists in the restive region to 48.
This was the second such incident in less than a month when a girls’ school has been bombed in the Mohmand Agency.
Earlier this month, a girls’ school and a health centre was razed by the Taliban insurgents in the Khushal Kally area of the Agency.
The Talibani militants have destroyed hundreds of schools, mostly for girls, in the troubled tribal regions in Pakistan’s north-western region in the past few months.
Over 200 girls schools have been destroyed in the Swat valley in the last two years, since the Taliban’s uprising to enforce the Islamic ’sharia’ law in the region. (ANI)
