WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- Long Beach, Washington resident Verna Oller has emerged as a dominant search on the web lately after it came to light that the 98 year old lady had left a whopping $4.5 million fortune for the welfare of her hometown prior to her demise. The rather intriguing story of the elderly lady came to the limelight when it was featured on ABC last Wednesday which received quite an impressive viewership.

The sturdy old lady was known for her frugal nature who would not spend a single penny in an unwise manner and earned her bread by filleting fish on hourly wage till the age of 70. Verna Oller’s stingy ways surely yielded results as the elderly lady left behind an enormous fortune of $4.5 million which she wanted to spend on her home town. Her friends, Guy and Carolyn Glenn recalled details of their elderly friend while also adding that they were given responsibility to ensure that her main goal of building a swimming pool in her home town is achieved. It has been reported that initiatives have been taken to make sure that the elderly lady’s dream finally sees the light of the day as part of the money would go to build the first swimming pool of the town.

Meanwhile, one of the main reason which contributed to Verna Oller putting the impetus on building a pool was her frustration as a young girl of not being able to swim despite living near the ocean. At the same time, it has also been reported that rest of the money would be used for scholarships and providing funds to local teachers.
