Flight attendant says gun at airport was accident
INDIANAPOLIS — A flight attendant who police say took a loaded handgun to the Indianapolis International Airport says she had accidentally picked up a carry-on bag in which she’d placed her gun.
Amber Robillard was arrested and charged June 4 with carrying a handgun without a license and entering a controlled area in an airport with a weapon.
Court records say the 39-year-old told police she mistakenly picked up a bag containing her gun during a trip to Indianapolis. Inspectors found the gun in her bag when she arrived at the city’s airport to work on a Delta Air Lines flight back to Atlanta.
Federal officials still are investigating how the gun made it onto the original flight.
A message seeking comment was left Thursday at an Atlanta number listed under Robillard’s name.
