Lessons for Brit girls on how to walk in heels branded ‘a silly gimmick’

London, June 9 (ANI): A module, which was formed as part of a taxpayer-funded college course, that teaches British teenage girls how to walk in high heels has been branded as “a silly gimmick”.
The module, named Sexy Heels In The City, aims at teaching poise and confidence to young women studying hairdressing and beauty.
Tutor Chyna Whyne claims the 150pound-a-head six-week course at South Thames College in London could also prevent future back pain.
Her lessons also offer advice on how girls should carry designer handbags.
But critics have criticised the classes as being just a gimmick.
“This is a silly gimmick. Training young people to get them back to work can be good value for money but this is clearly a case of frivolity,” the Daily Express quoted Matthew Elliott, of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, as saying.
Former singer Whyne, 45, said she launched the course after suffering lower back pain from her days wearing high heels on stage.
“The earlier younger ladies learn how to walk in heels, the better it’s going to be in the long run - with business and social lives,” the pilates and posture expert stated.
Student Celina Mystery, 16, said: “Since I started the course I’ve felt more confident in my heels.”
A college spokeswoman added: “The course is a good chance for the girls to improve their posture and confidence in a fun and light class whilst learning how to avoid injuries.” (ANI)
