Pak, Australia sign MoU to boost defence cooperation

RAWALPINDI - Pakistan and Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost defence ties between the two countries.
It was signed after Australian Defence Minister John Faulkner called on Pakistan Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar at the Ministry of Defence.
The MoU envisages promoting interaction between the armed forces of the two countries, and also aims to double the training package for Pakistan armed forces with help from the Australian side, The Daily Times reports.
During the meeting, Mukhtar also briefed Faulkner about the social, economic and psychological impact of the war on terror on Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Pakistan Defence Secretary Lieutenant General (r) Syed Athar Ali, Rear Admiral Shah Sohail Masood, Defence Ministry Additional Secretary and other senior military and defence officials of Pakistan. (ANI)
