Mangalore crash: Inquiry team will submit report by August 31

MANGALORE - The newly appointed investigation team to probe the crash of the Air India Express flight IX 812 in Mangalore will submit its report by August 31.

The probe team, headed by Bhushan Nilkanth Gokhale, Air Marshal (retired), inspected the crash site on Monday.

Talking to reporters, he said the team would visit the site as frequently as required for investigation.

“I am here for another two days and I will come back. We have come to see the initial debris and we have to study a lot about this…so that there are no doubts left,” he added. “The team will conduct necessary inquiries with officials and survivors and collect evidences in the tragic incident,” he said.

The Air India Express flight from Dubai to Mangalore that crashed while landing at the Mangalore airport on May 22 claimed 158 lives. (ANI)
