Turkey wants US condemnation of Israeli raid
WASHINGTON — Turkey is demanding that the United States condemn the botched Israeli raid on an aid flotilla that ended with Israeli soldiers killing nine activists.
Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu made the comments ahead of a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton Monday.
The White House has reacted cautiously to the raid, calling for the disclosure of the full facts.
Davutoglu told reporters: “I have to be frank, I am not very happy with this statement from Washington yesterday.”
He added: “We expect a clear condemnation.”
