Police baton-charge Bijnore locals protesting excessive power cuts

BIJNORE - Police baton-charged locals here on Monday to end their weeklong protest against excessive power cuts in Nehtaur town in Uttar Pradesh Bijnore District.

The locals pelted stones, burnt effigies and damaged various vehicles including police jeeps in retaliation.

Many police personnel got injured in the clash.

The clash came to an end after four hours of stone pelting and baton-charge.

The area is getting power for only three hours a day. (ANI)
