LONDON - Indian origin British mountaineer Ajay Sharma conquered Mt Kilimanjaro in style wearing a dapper three piece Savile Row suit.

The South Londoner summited Africa’s highest mountain on June 1st and celebrated his 35th birthday en route to the peak.

“I wanted to dress for the occasion, because climbing Kilimanjaro is quite a big deal. generally wear Savile Row suits and I couldn’t face being photographed in my hiking gear. So I took a light blue, three-piece heavy tweed to the top in a canvas carrier,” the Daily Star quoted an exultant Sharma, as saying.

“I did have a bow tie in my pocket especially for the occasion, but when I got to the summit my brain had become completely scrambled from mountain sickness. When I reached the top, after three attempts to tie it, I gave up,” he added. (ANI)
