Aid flotilla to set sail for Gaza on Sunday

JERUSALEM — An organizer of the flotilla of ships carrying tons of supplies for the Gaza Strip says the vessels will set sail for the blockaded territory on Sunday.

The sailing already has been delayed several times. If the ships set sail from waters off Cyprus on schedule, they’ll reach the area on Monday.

The Israeli military says the ships will be intercepted before they reach Gaza’s coast and towed to an Israeli port. It says activists will be given the choice of being deported or jailed.

It says the cargo will be transferred to Gaza for distribution after a security check.

The organizer, Dror Feiler, told Army Radio Sunday that the hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists aboard the ships will passively resist if Israeli seamen board the vessels.
