Thunderstorm damages mango crop in Malihabad

LUCKNOW - A thunderstorm has caused heavy damage to mango crop in Malihabad, Uttar Pradesh.

“The mango crop is down by 25 percent. This garden is of 33000 (acre) and in this garden around 200 boxes of mango is damaged and we got a loss of around Rs. 20000,” claimed Pankaj Singh, a grower of mangoes.

Mango growers earn around rupees 70,000 to 75, 000 for every ton of mangoes exported to the US, and make an annual profit of rupees 4.5 million. (ANI)
