SHANGHAI - Visiting Indian President Pratibha Devisingh Patil who is on a six day visit to China, reached Shanghai on Saturday afternoon.

President Patil will address the Indian community and visit the Indian and Chinese pavilions at the Shanghai Expo.

She will also be attending an India-China business forum meeting for promotion of trade between the two countries.

Earlier in the day, Patil had visited Luoyang City in China’s Henan Province, where she dedicated the Indian-style Buddhist temple in the White Horse Temple complex to the people of China in order to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship.
The temple is dedicated to two Indian monks - Ksahyapamatanga and Dharmaratna — who travelled on horseback to China, carrying with them religious texts and an image of the Buddha.

During her four-hour stay in Luoyang city, Patil also met the Governor of Henan Province, Guo Gengmao.

Patil will spend three days in Shanghai before returning to New Delhi on Monday evening. By Praful Kumar Singh (ANI)
