Hosiery fashion show held in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, May 26 (ANI): A fashion show showcasing hosiery goods was held here on Tuesday, as part of a hosiery exhibition that saw manufacturers and traders from across the country participating.

The ‘Lakma Expo 2010′ organized by Ludhiana Apparel and Knitwear Manufacturers Association (LAKMA) was held from May 23 to 26.

Nearly 102 hosiery manufacturers and over 800 buyers, including international clients, participated in the event.

“This concept by LAKMA is a very good platform for the customers as we are receiving customers from all over the country. It is really a very nice initiative. This will definitely generate profits for the entire industry of Ludhiana,” said Chetan Chawla, a hosiery manufacturer.

Models walked the ramp sporting a wide range of shawls, stoles, sweaters, jackets and blankets.

The organizers said the response has been good and they have received clients and buyers from across the country.

“We are receiving clients from every corner of the city. Mainly they are all from northern India but we are receiving clients from those parts of the country which experiences cold weather and where woolen clothes are being sold the most,” said Sandeep Wadhwa, Secretary, Ludhiana Apparel and Knitwear Manufacturers Association (LAKMA).

Ludhiana is well-known centre of hosiery industry. (ANI)
