Pak committed to peaceful settlement of Kashmir issue: Gilani

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that despite his country’s regional challenges, his government remains committed to a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir issue with India through negotiations and dialogue.
Talking to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Raja Zulqarnain Khan and Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider, who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House, Gilani said that it was imperative to end the long legacy of hostility and distrust to work towards a peaceful resolution of the dispute.
Commenting on the development activities in AJK, Gilani said that effective monitoring of the ongoing development projects would ensure their timely completion, The Daily Times reports.
He further said that the funds allocated for the projects would be released on time and that they would be utilised efficiently to provide maximum relief to the masses.
Meanwhile, the AJK President and Prime Minister thanked Gillani for his government’s support to the cause of Kashmir, and they also appreciated the provision of funds for the projects in AJK. (ANI)
