Islamabad, May 25(ANI): A meeting between former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf’s group of supporters and Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has reportedly failed to achieve the desired results.
“A group of the PML-Q leaders favouring Musharraf held a lengthy meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat at his residence on Monday,” The News quoted a source close to the PML-Q chief, as saying.
“Those who met Chaudhry Shujaat included Raza Hayat Hiraj, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Sardar Asif Nakai, Shahid Akram Bhinder and Chaudhry Nauraiz Shakoor,” the source added.
According to reports, Musharraf’s supporters tried to win Chaudhry Shujaat’s support for the former President’s yet-to-be-launched party.
The source also said that the supporters tried to convince Chaudhry Shujaat for a meeting with Musharraf.
“This meeting, however, completely failed as the top PML-Q leader and his party is wary of a meeting with the former military ruler,” the source said.
“Chaudhry Shujaat will never support Musharraf’s party because it will be destructive for his own party. The PML-Q president, who has been talking of electing Musharraf in uniform numerous times, now seems determined not to support any dictator in future,” the source added. (ANI)
